Apple restored the option to show the iPhone's battery level indication in the status bar with iOS 16. This is how you activate it.
Apple's smartphone received a number of new features with the release of iOS 16, one of which was the ability to show an iPhone's battery level in the status bar. Prior to the firm removing it on the iPhone X in 2017 the capability was initially accessible on all iPhones. Apple did not provide a reason for the feature's removal, although it was probably because the device's new notched design for Face ID required less space on the status bar.
The option to display the battery percentage on the status bar was later removed from all notched iPhone models, so users had to use the Control Center to check the precise battery level. All of that changed in 2022, though, when Apple re-released the functionality along with its iPhone 14 series. All iPhones running iOS 16 can currently show the battery level in the status bar with ease. To do this, launch the Settings app and choose "Battery" from the list of options. To activate the feature, simply turn on the toggle next to "Battery Percentage."
In the iPhone status bar, display the battery percentage.

Users will see a number inside the battery icon in the top-right corner of the screen after the option to display the battery percentage is turned on. All iPhones with notches that support Face ID can use this technique, even the iPhone 14 series. The battery % is always displayed in the status bar of iPhones without the notch, such as the iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation) and iPhone 8 and prior. The same holds true for all iPads, so users won't have to do anything to manually turn on the feature on these gadgets.@SleepKokoon new app is working. But battery indicator is behind the notch on iPhone 13. Maybe more models. Not showing in screenshot but I only get the last row or 2 of pixels of the battery bar. pic.twitter.com/lbec9oc2t5

The restored battery % indicator was previously limited to a few models running iOS 16. In addition to the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone X, this also applies to all models in the iPhone 14 series as well as the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11 are just a few of the compatible devices that Apple made available with iOS 16.1.
A second method to quickly check the battery percentage indicator on an Apple device is also available. Users can do this by adding the "Batteries" widget to the Today View or Home Screen of their smartphone. With the Control Center, users can also view their iPhones' battery life in percentages.
