In order to make the Galaxy S23 series the "most sustainable phones yet," Samsung used recycled materials in more parts of the phone than any other Galaxy model. The Galaxy S23 Phones From Samsung Are Its Most Eco-Friendly Yet: Why is this
The side key, volume controls, and SIM tray of the Galaxy S23 Ultra are the first flagship handset to employ pre-consumer recycled aluminum. From six internal components in the Galaxy S22 Ultra to 12 internal and external components in the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the number of recycled materials has increased in the Galaxy S23 devices.
Galaxy S23 Makes Use of Ocean Waste Recycled
The front and rear glasses of the Galaxy S23 Ultra are made of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which has a pre-consumer recycled content composition of 22% on average. Samsung also employs 100% recycled paper in the packaging of its products, including the front and back cover protectors. Samsung created new recycled plastics from used PET bottles and incorporated them into the front and back cases of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Also, the company claims that using more recycled plastics in the Galaxy S23 series, it would have prevented the entry of more than 15 tonnes of fishing net debris into the world's oceans by the end of 2023. Moreover, Samsung works with other companies and associates to boost the recycling of precious metals like gold and cobalt in its gadgets.
The OnePlus 11 is a remarkable exception to the rule that most Android phones receive three generations of operating system updates and two years of security fixes. Samsung is offering five years of security updates and four generations of OS upgrades for the Galaxy S23 series, allowing users to extend the life of their devices if they so desire.
Since 2009, Samsung claims to have employed more than 276,000 pounds of recycled plastic in its products worldwide. By 2030, Samsung hopes to have doubled that amount. Samsung uses recycled fishing nets and post-consumer materials in addition to the Galaxy S series in products including the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
